Sheerness Show Preview – 15/04/17

Former Undisputed World Heavyweight Champion Mr Anderson will team up with perennial crowd favourite Jonny Storm in a tag team match against 2017 Crusher Mason Memorial Trophy winner Mitchell Starr and the Midas Stable’s Robin Lekime. With neither of these teams having any real experience as partners this match could go anywhere but, should European Heavyweight Champion Lekime be able to pin Anderson, however, the threat that he poses as #1 contender to the World title would be a clear message to Alberto El Patron that The Bull is coming for his belt.

The Morning Star has dominated the WAW roster since his transformation last year and continues to run rampage inside the ring with his powers. ?

Local wrestler Mary Cox faces a huge challenge in the form of Innocence. Though facing a clear uphill battle, Cox will have a fire lit beneath her by the support of her hometown crowd and will definitely put up a fight in this contest.

Former Open Light Heavyweight Champion Brad O’Brien also faces a notable size disadvantage when he takes on ECTA Heavyweight Champion Bash. Bash has been a key part of the Midas Stable’s re-emergence as a force against WAW and will look to continue that momentum here.

Under-23 Champion PJ Knight has shown in recent months that he is just as skilled a singles competitor as is a tag team wrestler, having beaten his cousin and former partner Ricky Knight Jr for the title in December. Since then the third generation wrestler has fought alongside his uncles, The UK Hooligans, against Old School and been a key player in preventing his grandfather’s group from overrunning WAW. But in Sheerness one half of the Battlekats will go one on one with his grandfather, Ricky Knight. The elder Knight’s 30 years of experience are a clear advantage but the new school is always innovating and PJ may have a new move to break out against the Knight Dynasty patriarch.

A three way match pitting WAW representative Sonny Smasher, Midas member Keegan, and an open challenge to a local wrestler serves as the ultimate showcase of modern British wrestling. Smasher is a protege of Zak Knight and already a former Academy Champion despite his young age, giving him a clear upward trajectory as he gains more experience. Second generation wrestler Keegan was born with a wrestling pedigree and his association with Axl Lynch’s Midas Stable mean that he also has room to grow as his star rises. The unknown factor in this match will be the local wrestler, who will be able to prepare for this match knowing the identities of his two opponents and serving as a wild card in the match.
